| German Handball Federation (DHB)
was founded in 1949. 46 delegates elected the first president
- Vily Daum, he was president for some years.
The beginnings of the German handball date from the early
20's of the previous century. On the 29th October 1917, a
group of The Woman Movement lead by Max Haser made the first
steps of the game.
The end of the 20th century, the 90's, was the most important
period. With the fall of the Berlin wall, the two German federations
DHB and DHV, fused in one in 1991.
German Handball Federation (DHB) is consisted of 838.409
members and 34.000 clubs.
